The Mancos Common Press presents an Introduction to Letterpress Printing class on Saturday and Sunday. The class size is limited and a scholarship is available. Mancoscommonpress.org has more information and registration.

This class is open to all and is also required for those wanting to apply to become a Letterpress Artist Member at the Press. Artist Members have independent access and use of the Press facility.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit Leonard Davies: The Joys of Painting as a Pastime January 9 - February 28, 2026 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Davies retired from a distinguished career as a civil rights attorney, and began oil painting at the age of 70. His show features southwest landscapes, and is free to the public Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 6 pm. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 pm, Friday, January 9.

Meet us downtown at The Subterrain (900 Main Ave F) for the event. How does the Duel work? You’ll get a random prompt, then whip up a bit of verse, and perform your impromptu work against the opponent with the same prompt. Audience applause will determine who moves to the next round. Come to test your wits or just to cheer on the brave wordsmiths. Sign ups are limited to the first 20 contestants!
a centennial-style casino night inspired by Durango’s mining roots. After each round, the players with the lowest chip stacks are sent home, while the top card sharks move closer to the final table. Games run 30 min each, with 6 tables and 5 players per table. on Saturday January 31 at 6:00 PM.
